WHY SALT AND LIGHT ?
The book of Matthew talks about salt and light. In this passage, Jesus refers to his followers as the salt and light of the world. We're not meant to be hidden in the dark--we are meant to be set apart and shine. To add our own brand of flavor to the world just as salt flavors food. But sometimes life and it's complications can dim our light and make us lose some of our natural flavor. Sometimes we feel a little more dark than light. It happens to us all. But no matter how dark you feel, there's always a way to find a way to shine again. Sometimes we just need a little help. I like to help people find ways to shine. To take the lies that we believe about ourselves because of the world, or childhood scars and replace it with the truth of who God says you are.
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
